Randolph G. Russell spoke about the importance of knowing America's past. He is the author of American History in No Time, a quick and easy way for anyone to learn the basics. The book is geared to a general audience but has been used at a number of colleges and universities. In addition to his expertise in American history, Mr. Russell is an accomplished musician who has played in Europe, toured the U.S. with a Broadway musical, appeared at the New York Jazz Festival, and performed with Tony Bennett, Burt Bacharach, Lou Rawls, and Billy Crystal. He concludes his presentation by playing “America the Beautiful” on the saxophone. A native Floridian, Russell holds degrees from the University of Miami and the University of Florida.
